Jack M. Archer, CPA
Accounting Ph.D. Candidate
University of Alabama
University of Alabama
I am a third-year Ph.D. student at the University of Alabama. My research interests are primarily behavioral financial reporting, focused on investor judgment and decision making. I am interested in financial reporting disclosures, including how investors interpret and incorporate disclosures into their decision-making process. Further, I am interested in how managers can incorporate information about investor responses and decision-making into their disclosure strategy.
Prior to joining the Ph.D. program, I worked in assurance at Ernst & Young for three years in Columbus, OH. My auditing experience includes manufacturing, IPOs, and debt-issuance. Afterwards, I worked in banking at Huntington National Bank, where I was a Senior SEC Reporting Analyst and a Senior Regulatory Analyst. I focused primarily on Capital Requirements and reporting. I am an active CPA in the state of Alabama and Ohio. I received my Master of Accountancy and Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration from the University of Alabama.
